nib NZ appoints two independent Non-Executive Directors to Board

nib New Zealand said today it has appointed Josephine Gagan and Sophie Haslem as Non-Executive Directors to the NZ nib Board, effective 1 February 2024.
nib NZ Chairman Tony Ryall welcomed the additions to the Board.
Ms Gagan is Chair of the New Zealand Health Group; on the Board of the Auckland Hospital Foundation, and Chair of the Minds for Minds Trust. She was Group Chief Executive of the New Zealand Health Group Limited, and for more than two decades, she was Chief Executive and owner of Geneva Healthcare, based in Auckland.
Ms Gagan is a leading sector strategist within healthcare. Her skills include leadership management, workforce diversity and strategic management in the healthcare sector.
Ms Haslem is current Chair at Kordia Group Limited and is Deputy Chair at CentrePort Limited. She is also on the Board of Rangatira Limited, Payments New Zealand Limited, Livestock Improvement Corporation. Ms Haslem was also on the Board of Ngāi Tahi Holdings Corporation, an investment company managing more than $2 billion in tribal assets.
She has more than 25-years of broad commercial experience working across large corporations and early-stage growth companies. She has worked in corporate and investment banking, management consulting and spent more than a decade at New Zealand Post Ltd in key executive roles. Her experience includes governance, extensive mergers and acquisitions, business strategy and technology.

The appointments reflect nib’s commitment to Board renewal. As part of the Board’s ongoing succession planning, Ms Jacqueline Chow stepped down from the nib NZ Board last year. She remains an independent Non-Executive Director on the nib Group Board.
